I’ve been fooling around with a neat web service I thought I would share.  It is called AudioBoo.

Pretty simple.  You can directly record a forecast or update from the web interface or their iPhone or Android apps.  You can link directly to a “boo” in a tweet or blog post and there is widget support in WordPress.  The processing time is basically zero and the service is free.

The future is in distributed content.  If users are not going to come to your station’s site they are not going to come.  But, they do go elsewhere and you should be there.  I’ve been using the example of Ford Sync.  It provides weather information in your car.  The car knows where it is.  Why shouldn’t your voice come out of the speakers?

I’d be interested to hear what other products and services you are using.  And…bonus points if you can figure out why they call it “boo”.
