I sat down with my son to read the Sunday comics in one of the local newspapers yesterday…

Wait…backup.  I’m old.  Broken down.  Wear glasses.  Understand that the paper went to a smaller page size a few years ago to save on newsprint costs.  Know that the comics are popular, which is why the paper tries to cram as many comics on one sheet as it can.

It was one of the most unpleasant reading experiences I’ve had in a long time, and the comics are supposed to be funny!  The more comics you cram in, the smaller the print gets.  Hello?  Newspaper?  Really…?  Who is your customer? (He is described above…old eyes).  Twenty-somethings are not coming to you, so why would you offend the customers you have left?  Comics.com here we come.

Know your audience.
