I don’t know where the reviewer lives but I do know I lost him. You lost him. The entire local broadcast news industry lost him, and I bet he is not coming back. And…he is not the only one.
If you read anything from Terry Heaton or Jeff Jarvis you will understand the disruption of the web. The simple fact is that 15 years ago you couldn’t start a newspaper or a television station without a lot of money. Today, anyone can start a platform for free.
I know a weather blog on the east coast that is doing big traffic numbers and growing. It has nothing to do with any local television station. It even has thousands of regular visitors on the west coast.
I’m currently reading Poke the Box, by Seth Godin. You might like it and I highly recommend the parts where he talks about “permission”.
